02/19/2008   Congratulations to Ryan Martin, a Ph.D. student in Health Sciences in the College of Human Environmental Sciences. Ryan was awarded the first Thomas N. Cummings Research Fellowship, sponsored by the Division on Addictions and the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling in association with Harvard University’s Medical School. Ryan developed and tested a theory-based instrument designed to identify the level of gambling addiction that can be used to predict future gambling behavior. Ryan has worked under the tutelage of Dr. Stuart Usdan.
