TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-- The University of Alabama and the department
of modern languages and classics will host an international
colloquium, “Hermes and Aphrodite in Contemporary Literature
and Culture,” Thursday-Saturday, April 25-27, in the Ferguson
Center.
Inauguration of the colloquium and the opening of an art
exhibit by Kiki Karatheodoris are scheduled for Thursday, April
25, at 5 p.m. in the Ferguson Gallery (show sponsored by University
Programs).
During the colloquium, scholars from the United States and
four other countries, together with UA faculty and graduate
students, will present topics on literature, cinema,
anthropology and history of religions. The colloquium includes a
story-telling event on Friday afternoon and a theater production
on Friday evening.
