(for International Applicants)

for completing Application for Admission to Master's or Doctoral Program from a Baccalaureate Program in the same department/area at the University of Alabama

NOTE: All applicants in this category must have completed at least 91 hours and have an overall GPA of at least 3.0. Some departments do not accept this expedited form. Please contact the graduate program director in your department for more information.  

FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
  1. Complete the Expedited Online Application Form if you are a currently enrolled Senior at The University of Alabama applying to the Master's or Doctoral program in the same department or area as your Baccalaureate Program. Expedited form requires that applicants have completed at least 91 hours and have overall GPA of 3.0 or better.
  2. After online submission of the expedited form, you will be instructed to complete the Online Statement of Purpose form.
  3. The application fee is waived for University of Alabama seniors whose departments accept expedited applications.
  4. Request official test scores (GRE, MAT or GMAT), as required by the department (refer to departmental section of Graduate Catalog), be sent from the test services (ETS:GRE, PearsonVue:GMAT, Harcourt:MAT) to the Graduate School.
  5. All components of your application should be completed and received by the Graduate School at least six weeks prior to your anticipated date of registration. However, some departments require an earlier completion date. See the Graduate Catalog to review departmental application deadlines.
  6. Assistantships, Fellowships, and Financial Aid: Many types of financial support are available, including Graduate Council Fellowships, Graduate Council Research Fellowships, departmental teaching assistantships, and departmental research assistantships. Please, contact the department in which you are interested to obtain information and application procedures for assistantships and fellowships. Information for financial assistance for minority students is available through the Graduate School Office of Minority Student Assistance, Box 870118, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0118. Applications for loans and workstudy assignments must be made through the Office of Student Financial Aid, Box 870162, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0162.   7. Visa and Financial Documents: Applicants must provide proof of ability to finance graduate studies by completing the Non-Immigrant Visa Information Questionnaire and Certificate of Finances Form. Forms are available on our website. All documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations.
